You don't need people standing at the entrance with M16s. It would cost nothing to have a couple of security guards with handguns in case shit pops off, not even just with school shootings, often times especially in nignog districts, there are fights and stabbings, and it is currently up to the teachers to break it up. There are more guns in the USA than people, so banning guns is idiotic.

This is what they do at my son's middle school. It's a retired veteran who handles the car rider line in the morning and security during the day. Wears a vest and carries a handgun. Nothing weird or out of place about it. They also have a sheriff assigned to each school who is walking around or parked up front.

This whole school shooting problem has to do with how much our society has deteriorated. Both the fact that some deranged person decides they want to go and kill innocent children and that some men don’t have the courage to put their life on the line to do what they are supposed to do.
The whole country is really going down the tubes if you ask me.

Yeah it is a terrible fact of the situation.
Life is cyclical, it wasn’t that long ago that living where I do you had to worry about Comanches riding in and killing you and taking your wife and children. Now this is a new and more complicated threat to deal with than that but the solution definitely isn’t to make yourself less able to defend yourself or your family by banning guns.
And for as to want we should do setting up better security at schools is a good start. I work in schools and every exterior door and classroom door is locked and each campus has at least two guys who are generally retired cops/military and their armed and their job is to just patrol around the campus and check peoples badges to make sure they’re where they are supposed to be. They aren’t scary looking, they’re dressed just like the teachers.

You know if you get a bad sunburn you don’t lobby the government to ban the sun or never go outside again. You take proper precautions to protect yourself the next time to go outside

There is no permanent solution. Evil/psychotic people will always exist. How do we reduce or control them better? There’s mass knifings in China and other parts of the world. Hell in parts of the UK there goofy restrictions on buying knives. Obviously banning guns doesn’t get to the root of the problem.

It might reduce the number killed, maybe. There was a stabbing in China where the dude stabbed 24 people. The shooter in Nashville had three guns and killed 6 people.
Life is shitty. Are you just now coming to that conclusion? What are you 12? No offense to 12 year olds.
There are solutions to help reduce the problem but there are no absolute solutions to any problem in the world. We need to increase funding for mental health services in the US, bring back mental hospitals instead of just medicating the crazy person and putting them back on the street.
