I have a HP laptop for personal admin, and I have a thinkpad laptop for work.

I’ve not had a good PC I’m so long. I realised I don’t even know where to get one that isn’t absolutely full of bloatware bullshit.

I don’t want to build my own, I know it’s cost effective and better, but I don’t want to, the last time I did that was also about 2010 and I don’t want to learn how again. I’m not a hardware guy.

Tl:dr

Best place to get a good pre built PC that isn’t loaded up with bloatware?

There isn't. You'll also likely be overpaying for everything.

There's a reason nearly everyone except literal children builds their pcs and it sure as hell isn't because they all enjoy it.

Just ask your nerdiest friend for pc part advice and if he'd like to help build it. Odds are they'd be fucking delighted to.

There isn’t some service that put them together without that shit?

When I bought my laptop it took me about 3 hours to delete everything, I can’t stand it. Plus everything seems to be a fucking freemium model full of ads, log ins and two factor auth, it’s so painful.

My work laptop is configured by the tech people and I game on consoles, I haven’t delved into personal PC ownership is so long. It’s so fucking aids.

I recently bought a handheld gaming PC that's more than capable of playing most games. It's called the ROG Ally X.

Up until then I never owned a gaming PC. Last time I had a Windows computer was during the Windows XP days in High School and it could barely handle GTA 3, even though I owned the game on PS2. In 2006 I bought a Mac Mini to have as my first computer bought with my money and I used that until 2012 when I got a MacBook which didn't support any games really. After 12 years of never really using it, I decided to get the handheld.

This Ally has Windows 11. I bought flight simulator and it plays at 60 fps so I'm more than satisfied with it. I'm more of a casual gamer. I mostly got this so I can play indie games and classic PC games that I was never able to play before.

I have a PS5 if I want to play some more demanding AAA games.

There are but you're gonna pay extra (for the service and possible shipping for parts they don't have in-store) and you're still gonna have to do some research.

That's just OS/software shit. You can avoid that on a gaming pc by installing Windows 10 LTSC or Education (which skips out on a lotta bloat and spyware) and you can further debloat it afterwards and download some non-faggot alternatives to the default programs. This definitely involves you doing most of the legwork. I doubt there's any Geek Squad types who offer this kind of service, but you never know.

If you're looking to customize your own computer I went through ibuypower.com. I know nothing about computers, but it told me the specs I needed for whatever graphics card and motherboard I wanted. They will build it and test it before sending it out. You'll pay a bit more, but 'buy cheap, buy twice'.

When that anti virus update bricked all those systems recently, I helped our tech support guys fix the affected stations, I clean installed some and it was just dreadful, and these are business units with zero bullshit on.

It’s so off putting battling all the bloat, and just generally how everything is now. I remember just plugging a printer in and it working, now it takes forever to set up, register an account, then the device, then update the proprietary software etc. aids.

if you are ok with gaming in 1080p how about a gaming laptop. i like Asus they are cheap enough

if you want 4k you really need to build your own, folks are so lazy these days they always forget plugging a fan in or some BS like that, so even if you pay someone to do it you still need to do some DIY down the road

I think I want something more for video editing / 3d printing. I don’t game much and I’m happy with my consoles for that.

I need to bite the bullet and build one.
