They both had genuinely funny moments, but more importantly, they are the last sitcoms that pretty much everyone knew about. There will never be another network sitcom like that

If they had Malcolm go to find him with Lois, they could've called that episode "Malcolm in the Middle East".

The 1st 2 seasons are epic. The rollerskating one is one of the best eps of a show I ever seen. The bowling ep was great too.

I think I said it before but IRL. A lot of the older actors and producers of the show tryed to keep the older brother the fuck away from the rest of the cast because they knew he was a possible rapist nut job like his brother.

Whenever I watch the bowling episode, I try to decide what timeline is the best for all the characters. I don't think I can stand for Hal to lose that perfect 300 game, so I choose the other one as canon.

Plebs on ITV is the last el massive sitcom, which ended in 2019, apart from one short 2022 finale tv movie/reunion.

Imo it definitely lives up to classic status, you could show it to anyone from any time or place, and the comedy still comes off perfectly.

Wouldn’t expect anyone here to know of it, though. And tbf, it was only great for the first few seasons, the second half of the show was a marked step down in quality due to cast changes, slashed budget, ideas running out or wearing thin, etc. It could easily and perhaps better have ended in 2016.
