Just read a lot of books instead of watching tv or gaming, learn to play an instrument (requires a lot of focus) and exercise/eat better/don’t smoke weed etc

Whatever your IQ is, try to be a calm and well read person with a diverse range of interests and you won’t have many problems. Most people realise it’s not what you achieve academically, it’s what you make of yourself regardless.

It’s definitely possible to make yourself dumber but I don’t think it works the other way.

There’s this weird attitude amongst people now where they think because they can’t do something to the maximum extent then they won’t do anything at all.

“It’s okay for Joe Rogan to work out 3 hours a day with his private gym and sauna” - so they don’t even do 5 minutes of cardio a day. They do literally nothing.

“I’m never gonna be a maestro like @bendovid” so they don’t learn some major chords on guitar.

“I’m never gonna be a genius” so they watch reality TV instead of reading a novel.

The examples are endless. I truly don’t understand it. It’s just pure laziness.

I’m not justifying laziness or complacency. I’m just saying that you can learn things if you put your mind to it but you can’t increase your general intelligence by any actual metric. IQ is worthless if you don’t do anything with it though.
