I told you that falling for and focusing on the obviously fabricated shit surrounding a rumor (that might actually have some validity) is gonna do more harm than good if you actually care about the HQ because it's going to turn a serious issue into a farce. Now Trump brought it up during the debate and it made him look like a dumbass and all the guys that were promoting it are either backtracking or doubling down.

Problem is, it comes across more like the birther movement he championed before. Even though it’s probably true, it just comes across as crazy and irrelevant. It is also much easier for his opponents to spin it to the latter. Its this simple. If you want to have a discussion about immigration don’t say the quiet part out loud. “They’re backwards animals who eat pets” is the shit you imply, not say. If they stick to the “You have to come here legally like we did! We’re not making sure the people we’re letting in aren’t criminals!” it’s a more nuanced argument people can agree with.
