There are plenty of great games being released. I'm playing Black Myth right now, just finished the Elden Ring DLC, FF7 Rebirth is my GOTY so far, etc. I'm not worried about all these shitty live services games because they will fail, and Sony, WB Games, and all the other developers are learning hundred million dollar lessons from their screw ups.

How's the Elden Ring DLC? I 100%ed Elden Ring and so I don't feel the need to play more.
FF7 Remake -- man I loved the nostalgia but the gameplay just sucked. Hit, run around, potion, potion, hit, phoenix down. Did Rebirth fix that and the pacing issues, because Remake was also much longer than it needed to be as they padded it to span multiple releases and it shows.

Elden Ring DLC is fun but it might piss you off. Confusing map, lots of empty space, and crazy overtuned bosses. It's got a lot of content, but it's not for everyone.
Rebirth's combat isn't harder but it's more complex and fun. It's a shame that the player can't start on hard mode. I replayed Remake on hard right before Rebirth came out, and it was way more fun. No more item spamming, and more intense boss fights. I'm going to replay Rebirth again on hard eventually, because the new dynamic mode isn't that challenging either.
In regards to the pacing, it's an open world game with a lot of mini-games. It's way longer than the first game, but I didn't have a problem with it.

I loved the gameplay, so much better than the hack'n'slash you find most RPGs these days. Obvsiouly turn based would be better but they're never gonna return to that.

There was a period of time you can't make anything without pissing off the ccp so all they can do is make Chinese classics like Journey into the west (where wukong from), and every shows on tv was a remake of that, funny shit.
