Well, on Twitter he can pretend like his fucking around on duolingo has led to him being bilingual, despite him clearly using Google translate.

There's no upside to him using Google translate in sms texts, he's not performing for his twitter following there.

He cant actually speak/understand fluent spanish. He is still in the phase of piecing it together from the basic words he does recognize. He probably just bumbles his way through a food orders since thats all he wanted to learn it for.

He's 100% using Google translate LMFAO it's exactly what I would do because I don't know the language very well, but I do know that Rico Tomlinson es muy, muy gordo y sus libros no son buenos. Su idea para un libro de Tiny Tim APESTA y es posiblemente la peor idea que he escuchado. ¡Y está gordo!

He's only completed the early part of the beginner section on Duolingo.

Can your Mexican friend use some common slang that is well known, but hard to google translate. Like the Spanish equivalent of "this song slaps? Or in French "une chatte" means a female cat but it also means a pussy.
