All three of his Tor books were duds, but In The Black especially. He originally wanted to complete the "Breach" trilogy, but Gate Crashers and Starship Pedo sold so poorly that they made him try something different. So he switched gears to "mil-spec sci-fi".You're not Zack Snyder dude. Nobody is starting #ReleaseInTheRed for you. Tor doesn't want it. Readers don't want it. Your spot in the industry has been filled by someone less mentally ill and more hungry who values selling books over trying to get famous for tweets and being swatted.
In The Black only has a 4.4 rating on Amazon and a 3.9 on Goodreads. Bear in mind, this is with Pat stacking the deck. He gives his own books 5 stars on both platforms. He has friends that give him 5 stars (Paul's is still the first review you see on Amazon for In The Black). He has people that received a free copy in exchange for a review that give him 5 stars. He has people who he begged to "counter the troll reviews" who give him 5 stars (there are many reviews that say just that: "I'm only reviewing to counter the negative troll reviews"). And at least on Goodreads, he had them purge tons of the negative reviews, too.
And he still can't even crack 4 stars on Goodreads. There's maybe 50-100 people on the entire planet who organically picked up In The Black and enjoyed it, despite being on the biggest science fiction publisher of all time, Tor. He's a failure.
