There were tons of great bans in the early to mid 90s - Oasis, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Radiohead etc etc. It's as good of an example of when music was good as any.

I never really got the Beatles comparison. Their music sounds nothing like the Beatles to me. I think people just ran with that because they kept citing them as their main influence when they first broke through.
