You want to "win" them over and transform the disdain to respect. It wont and will never happen. Once a dynamic is maintained in a forum, it is near impossible to get out of it. I saw this long ago, so your best bet is to jiujitsu the disdain back using whatever arsenal you got, or you leave and maintain your dignity. I wasn’t necessarily trying to win anyone but just contribute to Off Topic and make something of this bit. As far as forum dynamics work it is what it is. I couldn’t care less if CHH nonsensically declares switching the goal posts at the last second as some sort of win.
