I just listened to it again, you’re right. The music is good, his voice is good, the lyrics are shit, need major tightening up.

I also just listened to it before replying here. man does that song just drone on and on.. I think if he could have came up with a better chorus and only used the first / second verse it might have been a stronger hit and received a bit more airplay.

it plays at the end of the val kilmer john holmes movie wonderland where it says he was acquitted of murder but then dies of aids. i thought it worked well in that scene and i always think of john when i hear it, rip.
