They say physical withdrawal is there, but the actual physical symptoms are just like going through a flu.
They talk about people in hospitals who are put on morphine. They technically go through the same physical withdrawal symptoms as heroin addicts (chills, nausea, stomach cramps etc) but don't have any of the torturous cravings.
As someone who's never been a heroin addict, I can't confirm.

Totally believe this. I’ve literally smoked crack, shot meth and heroin. Every fucking drug you could imagine.

That's not to say that everyone who gets clean puts it in those terms but they appeal to personal responsibility to resist the temptations/passions.

Theres that saying that alcohol doesn’t make you lie, it’s like a truth serum. If someone does something fucked up while they’re all doped out, it’s not a result of the dope, that’s just their true selves.
A lot of people do crack and don’t sell their kids PS4 to afford it. The ones who do blame the crack, as if someone has literally 0 agency when they either pick up the pipe or look at their kids toys as income for drugs.
