Joe's just a run-of-the-mill idiotic boomer with too much time on his hands. He falls more into the 'fun to fuck with' category as opposed to being genuinely hateable.
Patrick, on the other hand, is like a supernova of hateable awfulness. He is an amalgam of all the worst aspects of modern culture and doesn't have a single redeeming trait. It actually corrupts your soul to be exposed to him for so long. He makes you lose faith in humanity and wish for a 2nd mass extinction just so he won't exist in the universe any longer.
