They pretty much duplicated the stern show in a non jewish way.

This was a tacky, lazy move on Stern's part. Let's assume Howard was the first guy to have people in a loose format telling jokes, shitting on celebrities, fighting with management, etc. Was his plan to do that and then sit alone as the only person on radio doing that? Does he deny Cousin Brucie, Bob Grant, and Jean Sheperd's influence on his own career?

Radio must be the only medium where it's possible to take a major role in creating a new genre, then try to hoard not only credit as the sole innovator, but to also claim rights as the sole practitioner.

He copied most of his format from some guy in Chicago. He does give bob grant some credit though.

Wack Pack was a name used by tons of others shows not just Stern. It was a take on the Rat Pack group of celebrities. O&A and Stern did tons of the same obvious bits. Like play the Mel Gibson tapes. Or talk about Tiger Woods for hours. Or act out of the plays of Virginia Tech shooter. Or song parodies, prank calls, sound effects, and other radio staples. Tons of jokes or ideas from O&A would make their way into shows like South Park or Breaking Bad without any credit for years.

Stern flat out has played O&A bits on the air before. Including some times where he would play the bit.....as played on O&A, and you could hear O&A literally laughing over the clip as Stern played it because it was taped from their radio show. Stern also claimed to have invented things like doing street interviews, doing mean interviews with celebrities, 'Whip'em Out Wednesdays', and so on. OAPedia used to have a list of Stern inventions.
Out of curiosity, how did Breaking Bad rip off O&A?

Stern's format was always ultra scripted and rehearsed. Fake prank calls. Fake fights between staffers. Fake stories from callers. Electric Eel Radio. Don Buchwald client interviews every single week. Endless use of airwaves to promote his new book or movie. You could look at which PrepBurger bits Stern would be using each day and figure out pretty quickly which calls were fake as well. Most of Stern's bits are basically scripted. You can tell when the real fights are happening like Artie going crazy or the Rainbow Room or whatever because of how uncomfortable everyone is.

Ripoff? Nah those guys were huge fans of O&A apparently. Burr, DeRosa, and if he lived Patrice would have been on the show. That obese bodyguard that did the pickpocket work probably would have been Patrice.

One of the better interviews they did was with Bryan Cranston while BB was in full swing. Always a good interviewer, but that is because Bryan is actually engaging. Imagine going to plug your show with those 3 pricks trying to hold a conversation that is actually good
