I don’t even think it’s that she’s balding, I think it’s that she’s becoming an old woman and can’t have long hair anymore, it’s stringy and thin. There’s a reason most women have short haircuts when they become middle aged. Very few have the genetics that allow them to keep long hair.

She refuses to let it go and have an appropriate hair style and length, so just wears it up and puts sunglasses on top for her “look” because if I had to guess, she thinks it makes her look young and like she’s just wearing her hair up but that she could wear it down if she wanted to. She can’t. It’s old lady thin and brittle.
