Only one man knows how to hit a Slap Jack...

Suckas gots to know!
Fuckin Love Stevie Ray. When the WWE merger happened, it would’ve been cool if Stevie wasn’t hurt and could’ve participated. Nothing was better than “suckas gots to know” and the Slap Jack. Him and Booker both. Great workers, good on the mic.

He also called another wrestler "FRUIT BOOTY!" during a promo, which I'm not sure if he ever used before or after that, but this was during the half-hearted solo outing he had while Booker was slowly skyrocketing to the Main Event.

WCW were my favorite tapes to watch from my one friend who did international trading. Southern style of that era just held up better than what WWE was doing at the time. They may have had story, but WCW had Harlem Heat and a pre-murderous Chris Benoit.

And lest we forget Norman Smiley.

I liked WCW better than WWE from about 1988- early 98. I think Goldberg beating Hogan for free on Nitro was the first nail.

It was Pat's emergency backup account for when StealthyGeek got banned, I think.

He had that, then fell back on the less-obvious Robert Mewler
Yeah I think I personally got that one banned within a few hours of his first one going down by getting his idiot followers to report it. Good times. Better times.

I grew up in NYC and saw tons of WWF/E as a kid but I agree that the NWA/WCW was more entertaining for what I wanted it to be. 1992 with the WCW/NJPW crossover stuff was fucking great and brought Vader into WCW.

It's a tough one man.

They did this so Nitro would win the night, which it did. But you threw away a money match for free, something a lot of modern wrestling seems to cock up nowadays (AEW, from what I've read, is the king of doing this stupid shit).

But to relay a story, WWE wanted to do a Lesnar vs. Austin match on RAW for free with no buildup. Austin, still popular but declining in ability, refused and walked out on the company for a long period of time. Despite how the company painted it, he didn't leave because he was booked to lose - he left because they were throwing away a profitable match for free, which would benefit nobody.

Cornette has given many examples of why putting your money matches on free tv is a promotion killer, and despite being an old man yelling at clouds very often, on this one he's absolutely right.

The Ric Flair/Vader Starrcade main event is a great lesson on how to book a David vs. Goliath match and have it both be meaningful and not hurt the credibility of your wrestlers.

Brock was on Austin’s podcast and Austin told him he didn’t walk out because he was losing to Brock, but because the match should’ve been on PPV and Brock agreed.

Brock gets a lot of shit for being a businessman and not a blind self-mark for the industry, but every great mind Wrestling ever had was like him in looking at the money first and foremost. It's ALWAYS about the money, not a meaningless five star match rating from a stammering prick with a hoarders office.

I might get some hate here, but I saw what I saw.

IMO Dusty Rhodes is the greatest baby face ever
And Flair is the greatest heel ever.

I will always love Dusty Rhodes and how he could control a crowd despite looking like someone going for thirds at a buffet line. It's why I follow Dustin and Cody, I see a lot of him in them, even if they don't.

Dustin’s one of the best workers ever. It’s criminal how underrated he’s been his whole career. Cody has Dreams charisma. His return at Mania last year was the biggest pop we’ve seen for a guy coming back in a long time. Love that entrance song too.

The American fan does a great Dusty impression, he gets the delivery and the lisp just right.

Cody has the lisp, too, but he's worked very hard to hide it. You can hear it if you're paying attention though, and I actually don't think it would hurt him to lean into it.

Cornette talked about Dusty after his passing and spoke with absolute reverence about his ability to set up a storyline with all the twists and turns to get radioactive heat from the audience. In his opinion nobody could do it better. Also he pointed out in response to a question on why if Dusty was so great he didn't have more/longer title runs that it was because Dusty knew he couldn't carry the main even night after night wrestling 45-60 minutes.

A buddy of mine and I will do Dusty and Flair back and forth. Down here that’s still a thing, people talk about Dusty vs Flair to this day. So it goes over well at picnics when we talk back and forth in the Dusty and Flair voices lol. “Hey babay thith isth Duthy Rhode, the bear in the woods if you willllll babay!”
