Only update I can find is that he is still in critical condition and that hospital staff aren't confident whether he will make it.

People who sat behind him said he was drinking tons of beer all night. At one point he spilled beer all over himself and took his shirt off as a result. He was there with his girlfriend and some friends and possibly one of their mothers. Someone also alleged that he was only twenty and underage to drink alcohol.

And they let him stay infront of the railings, of course it was girlfriends and moms.
In their women minds they did this so he wouldn't fall onto someone else 1 row below, if they had any bit of foresight they should've realized the opportunity that would eventually be a guarantee.
I bet when he started going over the railings they made panicked attempts to catch him, but the kind where they're simultaneously trying to avoid actually helping, just more of a "oh no I'm helping IM HELPING NOOOO"
