Growing up, Food Lion was the only large grocery store we had in the area. They remodeled a lot of their stores about 10 years ago and it really took the edge off the old lingering 90s trashiness. Good fried chicken too. Worked at a Kroger during college, it sucked, i stole shit constantly

They are usually around higher income cities or college towns in North Carolina and Virginia. I would trade every Kroger in the Roanoke Valley for one monolithic Harris Teeter in a nicer part of town. Maybe one Trader Joe's near the trust fund area.
