Apparently the two blond emperors are supposed to be Caracalla and Geta.

The one time it'd actually be appropriate to cast a Cumia in a historical setting and they whitewash the fuck out of them because they were infamously bad people. Hollywood's racial politics are so tiresomely predictable and transparant. The trailer focusses on the action but there's some hints that they're gonna shoehorn some hamfisted attempts at social commentary into the movie. Especially since this seems like a "one for them" type of deal for Ridley Scott, so he could make Napoleon.

Denzel can't even be bothered to put up an accent for this shit. The ghetto ass "Yeah-HEH" laugh at the start of the trailer tells you all you need to know.

Yeah, Caracalla was arguably the worst and most psychopathic of all the Roman emperors. He had his brother Geta killed, and that was pretty tame compared to some of his later escapades.

The trailer has hip hop, bad cgi and what looks like a historically questionable African power player character out to humiliate and subvert the Roman empire. It's all so tiresome.
