Why reboot a show that wasn't even successful in the first place?

I watched and enjoyed the show when it first aired, but was was also 20 years ago.

There was a reason it only lasted 1 season.
It honestly wasn't successful in part because of the network. MTV fumbled the ball with a lot of shows like (Undergrads for example) because they just didn't fit the demographic of who was watching MTV at the time. It ended up with a huge cult following after it was cancelled and Chris Miller and Phil Lord have gone on to have very successful careers in Hollywood which is why they were able to get the ball rolling on a reboot. Plus you can find a streaming network that will greenlight almost anything these days

It's exhausting. Keep it as cult following and let autistics watch the same 13 episodes and analyze every frame, and I'll watch that all day.

I just watched the trailer for the reboot and shut it off after 40 seconds which is when a new character, Confucius, is speaking to his smartphone with a likely trans character right next to him. There's going to be forced diversity and it'll be woke.

There's going to be a stupid amount of shoe horning of reminding the original cast that they're in the present. Smartphones have ruined so many shows for me it's insane.

I agree with this. I loved Mission Hill, but a show like that and The Critic were such products of a time I have no desire to see them continued or rebooted. I can watch all of Mission Hill from time to time and be perfectly fine with it's short run.

The only time rebooting a animated show years late has ever worked was for Beavis and Butthead and that's because Mike Judge is just a great writer.

I regret watching the trailer because now it's showing up on my recommended.

Even the damn thumbnail makes me cringe.
