Occam's razor is wx/visibility. Pilot under pressure to get a VIP to his destination. Main cause of crashes.

Mx might be second, but it hit a ridgline, so it was flying until it crashed.

Airframe age is not a factor as long as recommended mx is followed as time and hour limited parts as replaced before anticipated failure. #2 Iranian guy isn't being flown around in a deathtrap either.

Likely not much electronic signature for a mil helicopter so being shot down is unlikely, especially in country.
Boq knows what he's talking about, he has a 2020 Sikorsky Helicopter.

Smart people who are confident in their beliefs don't speak in riddles
For all I know he's 100% on point with all of his geopolitical insights. I want to know what the point is. The ayatollah sabotaged the helicopter to pave the way for his son to be supreme leader. Okay - now what? I'm genuinely curious and I'd tell you if I wasn't.

To be honest, "now what" is right...this changes nothing whether it was pilot error or an inside job. Nothing changed, if anything Iran is just going to be more and more hardline, without really ever following thru when others call out its bluffs.

Just like the rest of the pathetic arab nations. Yell and scream, but never get anything done because you have to pull out a rug and kiss it 5 times a day.

I could have told you that without making a 17 minute video

Iran is not Arab...it has had sanctions on it since 1979...Just across the border in CIA run Iraqi Kurdistan, there are car dealerships selling the latest brands of porsches lexuses, you name it...that's where all the consoomer type Iranians go to get stuff smuggled. Even Gaza has better stuff because of the Iranian sanctions. Iran is more like Cuba in that sense, or the late USSR.

What do your sources in the Iranian forums say about this?
They are useless. From what I noticed, they dont have access to good intel back home...Their forum posts consist of whining about Pakistani shias (which they look down on cuz like I said, Iranian forumsters are irreligious and materialist) lamenting on twitter. Diaspora iranians want the regime to fail, they hate when they see the regime flex its muscles and get away with inside jobs...but they are also low-key happy this guy died, cuz he used to be the main prosecutor and signed off all death sentences when he was in the Iranian judiciary. Alot of innocent people died because of this guy. He was known as "the butcher of Tehran". (Nice WWE heel name, stupid).

Watch the video I rule out all possible suspects, I dont speak about pilot-error as we are to assume Air Force Ones/Aircraft carrying VIPs are pilot-error proof.
Can't do that, Boq.

I'm not a rotary-wing guy but I believe helicopters can operate under lower visibility than fixed wing.

But the helicopter likely did not have an AP, as AP is rare in helos due to their inherent instability.

So you have a pilot in low clouds, mountainous terrain, no AP to help and no gps with terrain warnings.

The other two ships were very lucky.

Can't rule sabotage out 100%, but pilot error/CFIT makes much more sense than a sabotage that appeared at the correct time. The gear boxes have chip indicators, you'd get low fuel/oil warnings and autorotate asap, not continue cruise flight into a mountainside.

Any chopper flying in fog, especially in mountainous terrain, is in extreme danger. Despite the dune coons false assumptions of pilot infallibility, any loss of visibility (even with perfectly functioning avionics and instruments) leaves a pilot at risk of becoming disoriented
