Now i’m not no scientist but I think it has something to do with , because the knee is on the back and pressing your chest against concrete, your lungs fill with less air over a period of time. It’s not like a chokehold where your entire throat is being cut off and you can’t talk OR breathe. In that scenario you’d pass out in under a minute. But with what happened to Floyd it’s consistent that they’d pass out in 1-2 minutes simply because the method used doesn’t cut off breathing entirely but “slows it down”

Anyway none of that was pertinent to the OP…Why not make a movie about Trayvon? Or that guy with the fake cigarettes? Or that kid who got shot holding a toy gun? There are a shit on of other dead blacks who…A.) Had a bigger impact that Floyd, and B.) Didn’t have as dirty a history as him

I can see this being the same reason why they haven’t made a proper Jimi Hendrix or Marvin Gaye bio-pic - the family is such a pain in the ass to the point nothing will ever be made. I remember reading Hendrix’s family said he not only cant be portrayed doing any drugs but his music can’t be used in any movie scene where drugs are being used. With Marvin Gaye the family doesnt like the fact Marvin was murdered by his Dad being mentioned.

you probably could do a marvin gaye film excluding his death. not every biopic needs to be the same formulaic coverage of the artists entire life; just cover a really interesting period in their career. you could easily do a film about the making of 'what's going on', and all the events in the country and his personal life which lead to its conception

Remember they tried to sue Robin Thicke over having a song that sounds “inspired / influenced” by Marvin Gaye? That gives you an idea of what kind of people they are. They did a Hendrix one with Andre 3000 a couple years ago and they way they got around the music issue was only having Hendrix play cover songs he did in his career (Hey Joe, etc) but it wasn’t well received and pretty low budget.

Yeah it didn’t get a major release or anything and was a small indie film. The cover songs to get around having to deal with the family so much is pretty funny - I remember years ago someone recorded a “tribute” album to kiss but only did the songs they covered so Gene wouldn’t get paid and was an F-U to him.

It won't be about Floyd so much as about Chauvin and how racist he was, even though they literally couldn't find anything racist in his entire career as a police officer.

I wonder if they'll show the seen where the coroner admit's to lying as to the cause of death because he didn't want to rock the boat (as testified to in court) or if they'll say that Chauvin was stabbed 26 times in prison when he started to actually push back against the system and file appeals.
