The way he talks with such authority really irritates me.

He has no fucking idea what he’s talking about.

The whole thing is fucking stupid, it’s going to cost about 100 billion dollars a year to fund Ukraine in this war, which will mostly fall on us as tax payers. It’s completely insane. The Russian economy isn’t a giant retarded Ponzi scheme like ours, they have deep cash reserves and can just keep selling their gas to Europe and China. Can someone please explain why we need to fund another countries war indefinitely when we’re in a financial crisis of our own?

Yeah, we know the cost of living situation is killing old people who can’t afford energy and millions of American children are going hungry, but thank god we’re paying for another countries war so Patrick S Tomlinson can look tough on Twitter.

The American concept of time, war and strategy is completely different than other countries too. Russia looks at time, costs, and objectives in a wholly different way than the ADD American perspective. Success in the Ukraine is not an abstract goal to them like Iraq or Afghanistan were to us. It’s not an experiment in nation building or a fun way for academic pencil warriors to test their silly theories. It’s a core security issue. Buffer states between European countries powers and Russia is a centuries long policy for Russian leaders. It’s not hard to work out why.

This whole thing is a toxic mix of extreme American arrogance and chauvinism and extreme ignorance. Patrick is extremely ignorant, undeniably arrogant, and definitely chauvinistic.

You’re right, I basically sympathise with the Ukrainians, they have the right to exist without being invaded. That said, the world doesn’t operate on what’s right or wrong, it never has and never will.

It isn’t our battle to fund, it’s not our boat to rock. It shouldn’t be anyway. I’m all for private citizens choosing to donate to help refugees or whatever, but sending them 60 billion? It’s fucking wrong.
