Colonel Homer is a good episode... Got to separate the art from the sex offender.
I mean technically you’re right. In a show with like 800 episodes he only primarily wrote 4? Thats not a good average.

“Groening was so against this idea that he initially attempted to have it removed from the schedule altogether. When that didn't work, he insisted that his name be removed from the episode's credits. Groening then went public with his anger over the situation, claiming that Brooks' attempt to use The Simpsons as "a commercial" for his other struggling show threatened the integrity of The Simpsons.”

PFG but ironic talking about “the integrity of the Simpsons” looking at what happened to it.

American Dad deserves to be recognized alongside King of the Hill as one of the peak animated shows ever.

After the first season, yes, they figured out what they were doing: taking Seth MacFarlane's hands off of it and just using him as Hired talent.

From Reddit:

S01E08 - The Telltale Head (three co-writers)
S01E13 - Some Enchanted Evening (one co-writer)
S03E20 - Colonel Homer (sole writer)
S07E21 - 22 Short Films About Springfield (ten co-writers)

He was in the writers room up until the middle of the run. I doubt he's in there anymore, nor do I care. I stopped following once Scully took over and took the piss completely out of the whole show.

First of all, Groening has an obsession with Samba music and Bollywood films. So he clearly has no fucking taste.

Second, you're right about integrity, but not just with The Simpsons. He's brought back Futurama AGAIN. Let the fucking thing die already. He had a wonderful ending with the first run, and the perfect ending with the second run. Fucking whore.

Third, I'm not saying he's a paederast, but if you hang with Epstein... It's like Dan Mullen raping holes: you assume it's true because he LOVES it.

All he cared about was his stupid rabbit comics
I love how he created the Simpsons in a rush because he wanted to save his rabbit comics. He assumed that would be his true goldmine.
Those old 80s and 90s Life In Hell strips were PFG, one of the better modern comic strips but probably because it was a borderline underground comic

I looked up some of the Life in Hell strips. I was a bit of a cocksucker for dismissing Groening like that... As I always say, live and learn.
