He’s got money but he meant if he had kept the Priceline stock he wouldn’t have to do so many conventions and other Star Trek stuff. He makes good money doing those (he charges more than the other Star Trek people and that’s why guys like Takei can’t stand him - they’re jealous of how much he makes at the cons compared to them)

George gives me the creeps so I’m inclined to agree with you. Saying he wouldn’t have to do so many cons is a hollow statement when you’re already forever wealthy. Is someone supposed to hear that and feel bad that he has to work so hard charging $60 for a photo from fat slobs?

It’s more he (and some other cast members) were bitter because they really didn’t do much after the show while Shatner got more tv shows.

I love that the famous Simpsons monorail episode they wanted George Takei to play himself as the celebrity guest and he turned it down because Takei was on some transportation board and didn’t like the idea of making “fun” of monorail (that wasn’t the joke, stupid) and the writers couldn’t believe Takei who was pretty much D list said no. They reached out to Nimoy thinking he would turn them down (bigger star) and he was a much better choice.

Well he does do a good amount of them still and he’s in his 90s. It’s more he could do less and think about it - he has to go out to these cons and meet gross slobs like Shane Noakes for over 40 years. Even if it’s good money you still have to meet smelly gross fat people and pretend you’re not physical repulsed by them. Shatner has even done Star Trek cruises - imagine being stuck on a boat with those freaks.

It was either wolfie or Richard and benjy did a piece on stern interviewing people at a Star Trek convention and pretty much all the guests there that weren’t Shatner bitched about how much Shatner charges because he charges the most AND has long lines of people to pay while they sit there like the lonely Virgil photo making next to nothing.
