I have recently consumed a dog as is my wont in certain parts of the world. Inspired by @DMAN the schizophrenic extraordinaire here is a brief review:

The Look:

IMG_4325.jpeg

It looks exactly like someone killed a dog, cut it up separating the ribs and then slow cooked it in broth for hours before steaming it over a bed of chives. Heating it up at the table adds some fun. Served with raw chillies, ginger, chilli powder, a variety of strong herbs and a lot of alcohol. You could realistically serve it to anyone and tell them it was a special kind of pork without them working it out.

The Taste:

In a word: exquisite. Imagine the best pork ribs you’ve ever had, not the sauce or seasoning but the actual meat. Now imagine they were 3 times softer, that the meat fell off the bone if you even looked at it. Imagine that the fat was sweet and perfectly proportioned to the meat, that the texture was satisfying but left you wanting more. This is dog, nature’s gift to my mouth.

Rating:

SSS+ I would and will eat again. This is a special treat, I wouldn’t eat it every day but I would happily eat it once a month. I highly recommend trying it if you ever get the opportunity, it’s not cheap but well worth it.

WWAWD Prey (2022) meat though?
I mean it's too obvious that a 65 pound no invention of the wheel culture female would be able to take down a 6 foot 10 alien with faster than light culture and super tech. I mean duh
All kidding aside I said in the prey thread that the predator should have won and that's how the legend of Bigfoot came to be. But in today's world, 65 pound waifes can do anything

I’m not an animal lover but eating dogs just seems over the line to me. I can’t exactly explain why but I’ll hang up and listen.
I am an animal lover, but I'm also an omnivore. I couldn't eat a pet dog, but I also couldn't eat a chicken that I keep for eggs. A stray or bred for meat? In the right circumstances and with the right seasonings, sure. I draw the moral line at relationship, not species. By way of analogy: I'll make jokes about child abuse, but not about abusing children I know personally. I will make jokes about abusing pets I know, so go figure.

It’s a tough one, man. I don’t exactly know how to explain it but I couldn’t eat something that has been domesticated. I’m indifferent about horses though. Edit: also veal just seems cruel to me.

You know, cows pigs and chickens are all domesticated. Those aren't wild beasts you're eating.
