How olds the AK? Buddy of mine had an old ass one, yours looks way better. You fucking had to push the trigger forward to shoot every time.
So it's a Zastava ZPAP M70. These starting being imported from Serbia I think in early 2020. They replaced the Npap and Opap imports from Zastava. They are sorta considered the best "bang for your buck" AKs right now but they do have some caveats.

I have only had it for about a year. Put a few thousand rounds through it so it's basically brand new.

I liked shooting the AK more. Something about it felt right. Shot a few ARs but the AK always felt better.

Are those the useless replicas they sell in tourist shops
The black one is 1060 carbon steel, and the red is 1080 if i recall correctly. I bought them off a licensed website that specialises in katanas/sabres here in the UK, they are good quality but aren't the traditional handmade imports from Japan. I paid around £150 for the black one, and £180 for the red. They aren't cheap shit, they are razor sharp and lightweight. I would like to own a traditional Japanese import but they are really expensive, your looking at £800+ for a smaller lower end import, and upwards of £3000+ for the better imports, the best ones can go for £20.000+.

I've seen some videos that you can get a fairly decent one for a few hundred dollars. As long as it's middle of the road steel, it's durable. You can sharpen them up to be very dangerous.

But as you said, if you put a few grand into one, it could go through a spinal column very easily with skill. Although, this is Master Po talk. It would just look good as a display piece.

Indeed, you get what you pay for really. I remember reading up before about swordsmiths in modern Japan, there are only a couple hundred who are still licensed. There are a handful of them who still use the old methods down to the T, i looked into how much it would cost to have a sword crafted and imported by one of the ones who use the old methods and it was ridiculous. It can take upwards of a year for them to craft the sword depending on the wait list, and it costs an arm and a leg. It would be nice to own one, but I'm not a fat bald faggot like Dana White who can drop $100k on a katana.

Yeah the swordsmithing there is passed down generationally and they get government funding to keep the culture going.

To get a genuine katana would cost a fortune. They’re mostly bought by collectors, but there’s still many schools that need them too.

After reading the Vagabond manga based on Miyamoto Musashi’s life, his school and grave is something I always wanted to visit if I ever take a Japan trip.
