I could almost forgive Pat if he busted in on that conversation to pitch a book - it's been a long time between paid work for him, and might be his only chance this year to speak face-to-face to a publisher - but no; it was all about the atalkers.
I think that at this point he's completely given up on his writing career that wasn't going anywhere anyway. No mention of any writing done for months, with only the most token attempts to maintain his cred as an author.

With the benefit of hindsight, it's not hard to conclude that Patrick was never that into writing to begin with. His speed was glacial, his premises were uninspired and the finished products were borderline unreadable. He kept hurting his brand by attacking random observers and other people in publishing long before we bumped into him, as well as encouraging and leaving fake reviews. It's obvious that he never put a fraction of the effort into his penmanship that he did into the trappings of fame that said writing awarded him: entry into the SFWA, convention panels, media interviews, an ivory tower on Xwitter from which to child the peasants.

Writing was never his passion, it was just a stepping stone on the way to his real dream: fame and punditry. Now that the (self-)swatting saga has allowed him to delude himself into thinking there's a new road, he's almost dropped all pretense of being a working author. He genuinely thinks professional victimhood will be the next step in his career.

I think he enjoys pats suffering more than his regulars on his podcast. I think his regulars dont really care for his Pat updates. He has to come here or kiwi to see some other like-minded people that enjoy watching pat step on rakes.
He should ask for The Dan Man and/or Boomia to do segments with him.
It would f*ing slap.

Sounds to be anxiety related but it’s better to be careful than not especially with your heart. I’ve had the same shut happen where you feel a chest pain and your anxiety runs wild with how it could be a heart attack and you end up fooling yourself into thinking it’s more serious than it is.

Yeah that’s happened to me, you get some mild chest pain and you look it up online and you get the result “it’s probably nothing but it could be VERY SERIOUS CALL 911 GET TO HOSPITAL RIGHT NOW or it’s just gas”

I ended up in the ER because of a lump on my ankle and thinking it was cancer bc I’ve had cancer scares before and the ER doctor was looking at me like I was a crazy person. It ended up being absolutely nothing and I just wasted everyone’s time.

I had to have open-heart surgery in my mid-thirties to correct a congenital defect, for years after every little twinge I felt in my torso, from the mild chest pain from anxiety like you mentioned to gas to a pulled muscle, I'd think, "Oh, fuck, here it comes." But every appointment I've had with my cardiologist he says my heart's working like a champ. But I've also since had a few random fainting episodes that came out of nowhere, nothing as serious as it seemed but it scared the Mrs. shitless.
The human body's a weird, fickle thing, was basically the point of the guy making it all about him.

Even if it was cancer, what were they going to do about it in the ER?
