That’s the funniest thing to me. They act like Twitter is a public service that they’re entitled to. Remember how when they used to ban people for questioning the vaccine it was all “private company, they can do whatever they want!”
They have actually argued that Twitter should be regulated like a public utility. They’re actual communists.

It's kind of a brilliant move on Elon's part. Not sure how it is as a business decision? And I don't care, but the people most opposed to paying the 8 bucks are the Patrick types who tweet all day everyday. Getting rid of them will make it better for everyone else. Or at least it will be funny to laugh at the meltdowns when these retards start hitting the view limit and have their toy taken away for the day.

Everyone saying “Boy, advertisers will hate this” fundamentally misunderstand advertising. One of the reasons my company doesn’t have a Twitter presence or bother advertising on it is that it’s garbage traffic. No one is rushing to put major spend into a platform where the vast majority of the views you get are bots or otherwise worthless. It’s better to reach the right 100 people than 100,000 worthless losers.

If anything, Elon’s moves should improve the value of their advertising — and the overall value of using the platform — by eliminating many of those worthless losers. The free riders are being forced to fuck off or pay up and it’s about damn time.
