I still think it's a pump and dump. He hints at making a new social network, investors perk up. He buys into twitter, shares go up. Twitter offer him a seat on the board if he doesn't buy any more shares, shares go up. He tweets about "stirring shit up", shares go up. He quietly sells his Twitter shares, makes a fuck ton, it gets memory holed like his solar roof tiles from five years back, or the robotaxis due two years ago.
If he really wanted to reshape twitter, he'd have told them to shove their seat on the board, bought more shares and formed a coalition of shareholders to push through his changes.

Pat so torn. Elon dangling that blue check he feels is so valuable. Downside is that the one he gets wont mean anything because you can be damn sure there will be accounts that fuck with him that has the same check.
