I tend to agree with this. He isn't going to just skip it and wait quietly for the knock, though. Pat changes his story all the time. I can show you tweets where he denies owing Quasi money, and tweets where he admits it. There's a post on here where someone tried to figure out when Pat "became a full time writer" and "left insurance,"and only to find that Pat's given about six different dates on Twitter alone. He did it in the BDA hearing, too; and if you listen to the audio, there's absolutely no pause for reflection. A normal human would think "Uh-uh, that was a lie. Oh, fuck - I just perjured myself in front of the judge!", but Pat's so used to lying that initial warning bell doesn't go off anymore.

In this case he's taken an hour off for a light, ten-pound snack and a drink; and afterwards forgot which version of the story he was telling and told the wrong one. Even if he did decide to skip the hearing today, there's no guarantee he'll stick to (or even remember) that plan when he wakes up tomorrow afternoon.
