True fuckin story: one of my lifelong best friends signed for nine years on a distribution charge (meth) in Texas. He’s been in since late 2016. I’ve sent him commissary money, eComms, and every book from Amazon I could think of. Most of the books get read by others in his dorm, but he gets some clout from sharing some good stuff so I don’t mind. I am pretty conservative but have a soft spot for the incarcerated…it changes you when it’s someone you love.

Anyway, I got him hooked on the Dune series last year and he wants more sci-fi to read. Around New Years they showed that shitty Battlefield Earth movie and he asked me for a copy of the book…it’s the first and only time I refused. I can’t have that purchase on my record, and I didn’t hesitate to send him several moronic softcore porn books and a subscription to US Weekly and Kite Magazine (from what I could tell it’s by inmates, for inmates, pertaining to scantily clad black women’s GIANT asses).
