I've wanted to marathon them all for a number of years now, maybe include it in my Planet of the Apes rotation, which I usually watch at least once per year.

The ending where his wife dies was actually meant to the the opening of the next movie, but Lazenby clearly didn’t want to come back for another so they brought Connery back and put the opening scene for the next movie in the ending. That’s the worst one. It’s full of lame nods to Connery which just made you think “yeah this guy isnt Connery, he sucks”, he wears a frilly shirt, and the death of his wife is absolutely comical. Old frau rolls up and drive bys her, then they just run off without killing their a tual target. It’s awful. There is no point to any of it, but “film buffs” consistently try to overrate it for some of the reasons you stated.
Bond is just dumb, mindless action and laughing at the ways he kills or incapacitates people. The movies stink when they try to be serious at all, such as OHMSS or Skyfall.
what the fuck? He could actually make Anthony look straight this time.
Goldeneye is solid. I have a soft spot for License to Kill. What's everyone's favourite Bond film?
Mine's Goldeneye.
I remember the book of Live and Let Die being hilariously racist. Describing the Jamaicans "rubber lips" and their dancing as "rutting animalistic mating ritual." I think it was Dr No where Fleming mentioned "Chingros - half Chinaman/half Negro and the ugliest people alive."Just finished reading all the Fleming books and short stories, but hit a wall getting through the movies. Some are good (Goldfinger, From Russia With Love) but some like A View to a Kill are abysmal and hard to get through.
Some of them, but the whole franchise is such a mixed back.
