In any context where their age compared to mine is important, I say younger brother, otherwise I just say brother. Pat is so awkward.

If someone asks I say my brother is younger than me. I don’t call him my “kid/little” brother. We do jokingly call each other “Poke” and “Kid”. As in he’ll say “if you’re going to get yourself another beer, get me one too Poke” and I’ll reply “you got it Kid”. As in Cowpoke and Billy the Kid, since my dad watched Westerns all the time we picked up cowboy movie slang and character names as youths.
