The paleontology example doesn't make sense because there are millions of proven dinosaur bones, and zero proven demonic possessions. A better example would be if some idiot glued a horn to a horse and said they had a unicorn. There's no millions of unicorn fossils out there.

There's just wild tall tales throughout history of priests who came across mentally ill people and declared SATAN! Demons are camera-shy, great to know. Your standard of evidence excludes all supernatural entities as being unreal so don't act like an asshole and bring up whether or not this or that case has been proven. You brought up one singular case as if your disbelief hinges on it but the fact is that your materialist presuppositions demand your disbelief. You'd decided before you saw that documentary and only brought it up as a cheap own.

There are lots of troubled people in the Bible who are not identified as being demonically possessed. The vast majority of lepers, mutes, blind people, lame people etc. were not exorcised by Christ and his disciples, just healed. It was not and never has been the go to explanation for people's ills unless they meet certain criteria. You're just showing your typical Redditor ignorance of the Bible and the church, like the time you thought the doctrine of the seven deadly sins was determined by the guy in charge of the church despite the fact that when the doctrine was developed the papacy didn't exist.

A guy in China puts a horn on a horse and calls it a unicorn. The pro-unicorn movement pounces on this and spreads the message to all non-believers that this proves unicorns exist. The unicorn is then (in the eyes of myself and many others) proven to be fake. Many people in the pro-unicorn movement say that's fake news, this unicorn is real.

Then Turry comes along and says that even though that unicorn might be faked, and all those other pro-unicorn people might be idiots, unicorns still exist. Hollywood is a tool to disseminate/trickle down concepts from them to the uninitiated. Think how many dinosaur themed cartoons existed. Think how movies/the tv shaped you world view, for things you haven't personally observed, or tested for.
