He signed a three book deal. They didn't offer him another. Each sold worse, by a lot, than it's predecessor. He hasn't published anything since he's been on spec because there's no obligation to publish another and nobody wants to print awful sounding trash from a guy 99% of people who interact with him despise.
Every success he had was tied to that Tor deal and he fucked it up. Where's all the TV talking head spots now?
