A well-known Box office analyst has estimated that the Walt Disney Co. has lost over $890 million on their last eight studio releases.
The films contributing to the losses include “Lightyear,” “Thor: Love and Thunder,” “Strange World,” “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” “The Little Mermaid,” and “Elemental.”
The eight films cost roughly $2.75 billion to produce but only brought in $1.86 billion. Okay, but what about marketing costs? You have to take that into account as well — it must be way more than $890 million in losses.
Excuse the formatting: I stole the post from Cumtown.org.

Black Panther 2 made well over $850 million and still "lost" them money? I can't blame niggers and "wokeness" for that, if you're making movies that net within spitting distance of a cool billy that's just retarded management.

Unless they're just saying "That was one of the movies that came out during that time" there's legit fraud going on there. No fucking way that movies "lost" them money.

Could have just pumped out mediocre Star Wars movie one after another and never lost. I know about The Mandalorian but a Bounty Hunter movie would have been amazing. Even they screwed up remaking Star Wars Battlefront.
Both star wars and marvel have so many backstories already written over the decades. They didnt want to pay the original writers. Its such an easy formula to print money. They could easily do it with Marvel and bring it back to life but I think Star wars is a lost cause. Ive had this idea that they should do anthology type stuff on Disney+ from old comic books to feel out what characters the audience warms up to. An 1hr 30min show with 3-4 shorts of different character adventures from past comic books. Then those more popular characters from the shorts are the ones that get considered for an actual movie. That way fans get to see a variety of super heroes with out getting overwhelmed and they are bound to huge contracts. Like a testing ground. I dont want to see a 14 episode series of Moon Knight but a 15-30min piece using one of his more popular stories from the books would be entertaining. The costume looked great but the show was ass.

Oh nevermind I clicked the article and saw the "well known soruce" the faggot links is one of those "WOKENESS ruined my CHILDHOOD favorites with WOKE" Youtube channels. The second part of my initial post was accurate, Black Panther made money but couldn't compensate for the bombs.
Well the box office figures should be accurate because that’s public info and I believe usually you double budget to account for advertising. The rest of those movies did tank to my knowledge. Solo was the first Star Wars movie to lose money.

$500million plus for the movie and advertising budget. And they take a loss on streaming and another loss on DVD/Bluray by not promoting those anymore. The goal is to sell merchandise like toys and posters that cost pennies to make and sell for $20 or $50. But who the hell is buying Black Panther toys and hats?
I am still amazed that they paid $4 billion for the rights to Star Wars, then decided to make up the new trilogy as they went along.
They probably made that back in toys the first year. From Star Wars merchandise alone they basically clear $2billion in their worst year. And probably closer to $10billion in a big year with a movie or whatever driving toy sales. Lucas could have sold Star Wars for $40billion and it would have been a steal. Lucas has to be one of the biggest idiots in history in terms of not reaching his potential and destroying his own legacy.

Think about Microsoft buying all these game companies like Bethesda and Blizzard. Are any of those companies really bigger than Star Wars? Yet Bethesda was purchased for $7.5billion and Disney got Star Wars for a mere $4billion. ActivisionBlizzard was purchased for $69billion. Is that company really worth more than ten times literally all of the Star Wars?

It's Jew accounting magic. Every movie is a loss so they don't have to pay taxes even though they're clearly richer each day

I remember when Disney couldnt lose. Traded it all for the woke agenda.
Their market cap is is 170 billion and they willl still profit about 10 billion this year it looks like. They can just print money with toys and their ip.

I think they will be fine. This isn't fucking bed bath and beyond lol.

I dont think they are going bankrupt any time soon but they tanked two different IPs with some of the biggest followings. Lots of core fans just walked away and have no real interest in giving it a second chance. Im trying to remember the last Disney movie I liked....maybe a Pirates movie or a pixar. Its been so long since I remember them putting out anything worth a shit.

Apple will buy them in the next couple of years.
It's pretty obvious that the deal is basically done behind the scenes. And right now Disney is just tanking their company to lower the price for a buyout. Then Apple purchases it and the company magically becomes profitable once again and the stock soars. No chance that the government blocks the purchase either.
