And it is alleged by some that in his mid-late twenties he SA'd and took the virginity of a fourteen year-old 'baby groupie' (victim lbr) named Lori, though this claim has never been verified.
1. Never verified my ass, it’s not even disputed apart from whether she was 14 or 15.
2. Virgin my ass she was a star fucker who was passed around by a variety of 70s musicians.

Trust I am absolutely not defending him, I think he did it and I think she was underage. I'm just doing a Pat and disclaiming for legal reasons.

Didn't David Bowie court and fuck a teenager?

I love Bowie, but I won't defend his many transgressions, and yes, he did. So did:

- Steven Tyler

- Chuck Berry

- Ted Nugent

- Jerry Lee Lewis (we all know THAT one)

- Mick Jagger

- Robert Plant

- Jimmy Page

And the list goes on.

The Polanski Issue bothers a cinema fanatic like myself because he was, and still is mostly, quite talented. From The Fearless Vampire Killers up to The Piano, even his problematic films stand as unique and trying something. Not to mention the whole Manson debacle and losing his wife and unborn child.

BUT, the man fucked a kid while she was drugged. I don't care if time has let her forgiven him (credit to her for that) or if there's a statute of limitations, if he walked up the stage at the Oscars, the first thing I'm going to say is "Yeah, he fucked that kid."

So fuck him, really. And Lynch? That's a comment for another time.

No, but The Ninth Gate does.
Am I a faggot for not liking that one? It's visually amazing. The whole tone is like a really good 70s movie but then beyond that it's just not very good.

I'm not a film critic or anything but it's no Joe VS. The Volcano.

Chuck Berry is the only one who did time for it.

Iirc the titular China Girl describes an under-aged fan of the Thin White Duke.
It's inspired by affair Iggy Pop had with a Vietnamese woman.
The original Iggy version is so much better, I once blew out the speakers in my mom's car listening to it.

I watched the 1989 Lewis biopic "Great Balls of Fire!" yesterday. It was pretty good. Dennis Quaid played Lewis and 18 year old Winona Ryder played his 13 year old wife. I was shocked how much of the film was dedicated to that, I wasn't aware that the marriage ruined his career. Oh, and Alec Baldwin was in it playing a preacher.

Former actor (Benvolio in Franco's Romeo and Juliet) and writer and director (Withnail & I et al) Bruce Robinson on Zeffirelli's predatory ways

The way the others are laughing at the story while he's visibly uncomfortable as fuck is pretty strange. Like, I know he's trying to tell it as funny as he can but when you see the fucker start hugging himself and can't keep his hands off his face you might back off the throttle a bit.

Odd how those Hollywood execs would do that while allowing an environment where child rapists, and probably child murderers could avoid arrest and prosecution over several decades. I just can't figure it out.

The presenter, Ruby Wax, is a cunt. He's an on and off the wagon alcoholic and she mocks him about it one minute and feeds him booze the next.

Polanski did do a great Shakespeare adaptation but not that great.

No-one's ever doing better than Julie Taymor's late '90s Titus (Andronicus), everyone should have given up after hers.

It's anachronistic, it's bloody, it's camp, it's epic, it's sumptuous and sexy but also a bit silly, just as the Bard intended. The gold standard adaptation. You can see Taymor's background in theatre arts & design shine through, but it doesn't crowd out the drama nor the poetry of the text.

Plus my countryman Matthew Rhys stars, along with gay icon Jonathan Rhys Meyers. What more could a girl ask for.

Titus Andronicus is also the name of a half-decent hipstery prog-punk post-hardcore band, but that's by the by.
