Fucking delivery driver shows up an hour late. I say "hey how's it going?" because I don't feel like grilling him about it and this demented old loon immediately starts babbling about the South African refugees. It took me a second to even figure out what he was talking about - we're in fucking Canada where none of this has any effect on our lives but big man has a lot to say about it. Probably sits there watching CBC all day like a complete mark. I was waiting for maintenance to come down with a dolly to open the gate and help me wheel it upstairs so I just got the driver to help me drop the shit off the pallet so he could get out of my face.

Then he switched topics to some singer he used to run into downtown. When I didn't show any interest in that he started talking about movies. I opined that singers and actors ought to be treated like the dancing monkeys they are and he finally loaded his pallet jack onto his truck and left.

this is where you went wrong. You need to get mad when you have a reason to so they don't want to talk to you. If you're on any drugs, don't take them for a day or so before they show up. If not, get on some and quit. That oughta do the trick. It sucks when they're on time because then you have to be nice.
