I'm genuinely interested in reading what more you have to say, brotherman. We can be faggots together.
Well, it'll feel a bit rushed if you binge it. It's only one season and they chose to end it. I would have loved 3-4 seasons if they could maintain the quality. Enough time to develop characters and add sufficient depth and give them some character development but not long enough to drag it out and make it suck. I felt like I was just getting to know the crew and then it was over. And the universe is interesting. Did anyone explore outside the solar system? Any neo-noire aliens? Shit like that I'd like to have seen.

Julia is barely a character at all. They tried to flesh her out in the live action and give her more to do but she's basically a MacGuffin in the anime and that is a-ok with me. The character they fucked up the most was Faye. In the anime she is kind of a femme fatale, highly competent and independent but also still very much feminine, vulnerable, insightful. The live action version was embarrassing. I was cringing when she had her 21st century bluehair dialogue. Anime Faye had class while also being kind of a mess.

I liked the guy who played Jet in the live action. I can't fault him for the writing. And John Cho's ego wouldn't let him step aside and let someone else play Spike. The age thing was distracting and Cho played the role too goofy. Spike has dry wit, not goofball humor. And then the standard Netflix shit where they had to add lesbians and non-binary characters. That type of shit fits easily in the universe but I thought it felt shoe-horned in. Thank God they didn't get the chance to introduce Ed.
