He’s an unashamed writer of old-school, pulpy horror. Lots of gore, lots of violence. I don’t think he considers it literature and its appeal is obviously limited.

He seems like a cool dude but this line on his Goodreads bio is a bit mad.

WTF? I definitely read this book but have zero recollection of that part. I was in high school at the time, but you'd think that would make it even more memorable in my mind.

It’s pretty controversial. When IT was read/discussed in high school that scene was a big topic of conversation. As late as a few years ago, King has expressed frustration that people are hung up about his child gangbang.
