There's nothing to sue for. Entry to the US can be denied for any reason at the discretion of CBP. I'm thinking he was barred entry for a future period, which is often reversed.

Oh shit I found a PDF of Destiny Delayed. The writing is definitely clunky in that ESL way but it's still more readable than Patrick's "use the thesaurus 3 times every sentence to sound smart".
