On the daily, I deal with (and there are many, many more like this):

  • Retard man - mid-50s, white, can't communicate about anything business related- when explaining a process he literally says shit like "After you get approval then you have to something, something the email then something, something then they do something, something and something, something and that's how it gets done". Shithead is so retarded he literally acts out explanations (this is horrible to watch and always a disaster). Struggles with simple tasks like sending simple emails. Retard autist bitch has to do everything in exactly same way every day (making him totally fucking useless in a dynamic biz environ - can't give him anything other than what he does every fucking day to work on), has spastic retard fits (literally) if he has too much work or is asked too many questions at once (total body involuntary spastic fits - eyes popping, retard hand shaking, whole body shaking) - this is horrific to watch by the way. Thinks he is gods gift to the business because is constantly given 'retard praise' (eg - "You populated that template, good job" - ie, something any fucking retard could do this is not exaggeration). Complained to me that a 20 year old newbie was 'acting all smart' with him and the kid needed to listen to him - I laughed in his face. Just got temp promotion (disgusting). He's not the worst though because at least he tries, the very worst is:
  • Retard woman - mid-50s, white, can't communicate about anything business related, utterly fucking lazy, useless, only good for booking meetings, where work literally goes to die, there isn't a person she hasn't stabbed in the back, fucked over or ruined in some way. A true slow adult, can't even fucking speak english (her first and only language), looks like a malformed fetus.

There is no ability to develop them, change them or for them to realize they aren't of any value to business at all. I’m not exaggerating when I say I know someone who makes 70,000 dollars a year copy pasting and attaching reports to emails every day. Also that he can’t even do this without emailing the wrong things to the wrong people all the time, and that he can’t finish it.

Other normal people pretty much have to do it for him, but it’s such a non-job that they can do it without hindering their own work so it doesn’t matter.

He thinks he’s one of the best employees we have and is vital because he’s showered with praise to appease him.

There are several morbidly obese women who can’t even walk under the bulk, who spend their entire day eating and being asleep at their desk who think they deserve pay rises every 3 months. They don’t do anything, I mean anything for anybody. If they ever do anything remotely considered work, they spend the next 3 days bitching about it and how it’s not fair they had to do it.

Meanwhile, I legitimately provide millions of dollars of production to my company and I might get a “good job” off hand comment once a year, and I’ll be criticised if I didn’t log in remotely at 330am Sunday morning when something went wrong, even though I did the proceeding 45 times it happened.

I’m a white straight not fat man though, so I’m victimising all of these people.

Don't know whether to laugh or cry - this is all remarkably familiar, right down to the characteristics. I use to work in a team where one idiot womans job was to cut and paste things into a database (which a review stated she did very poorly), was a complete oaf and the lowest paid there - today she runs the place because every 8 months there was 100% turn over of staff and she literally became the only person who had the slightest clue about how to do anything. I know this because every Exec I talk to bitterly complains to me she's useless and does nothing - they're all unaware she was the moron at the bottom of a team 3 years ago. I've had several bloated female complainers too, sometimes I've raised their laziness, been told to fuck off, then watched from a distance as they demolished teams around them - while the idiots I complained to asked 'how did this happen'.

I've learned to give less of a fuck and put far less effort in, as someone who has done good work and wanted to rise up in the organisation, it's difficult to act like a piece of shit but you have to sometimes if you're going to keep your own sanity.

My favorite boomerism is their inability to maintain a calendar.

If there’s a recurring weekly meeting, they’ll claim they didn’t know about it.
If a meeting gets cancelled, they’ll somehow join that one even though it’s not even on their calendar
If they wanna cancel a meeting themselves, they’ll always cancel the series instead of the individual meeting.

I have one customer who shows up 15 minutes late to a 30 minute call and is totally incredulous when no one is in the Teams lobby. He constantly complains about how much I charge him but expects me to sit on a call for 15 minutes twiddling my thumbs long enough for him to join while billing him the whole time for it
My boomer boss is this. AND he’s a former software engineer. It’s like they actively lose the ability over time to do technical shit. It’s amazing. The other day I sent an email to a department head and CC’dd my boss, and my boss replies all and acts like i emailed him directly, talking about how badly that department is fucked up. Like dude, how do you not even look at the recipients that badly?

1) The Bible tells me to work hard at whatever I do. Not for my masters on earth but for Him.

2) I was raised by my grandparents who instilled in me the work ethic that enriched the boomers in the first place, and I can’t rewrite that. I never have time off, I have to be gravely ill to do it and it’s because of my upbringing. My grandmothers mother died of cancer and nobody knew she had it till she was found dead, because she didn’t want to “cause a fuss” and didn’t stop being productive till she died. It’s not healthy, but it’s better than being like everybody else only thinking about yourself. A balance is needed, I know.
