As a live listener, WNEW was the high point for me. This was when they finally got comfortable and stopped being "happy to be there." You saw the first signs of them bashing everything. They had gotten over their hacky jitters and were fully capable of being assholes for the purposes of entertainment because they finally had ratings to back them up.

A lot of their bits at WAAF were fake and corny. They admit this themselves. The shitty sex talk and stripper interviews were unavoidable in every era. The low point of Satellite was also porn and stripper interviews without the goal of making them cry. At least wrestlers had some interesting stories sometimes. The athletes were terrible too when they were trying to become a Media Destination.

The only thing Satellite has over the FM years was better comics like Patrice, Colin, Louis, Burr, etc. making constant appearances. However, some of the comics who were mainly on the early FM show were legendary... Like Vos, Jim Breuer, Mario Cantone, Dice. It's a tough one man.

they were on free fm for a couple years during the xm years which was my favorite. they were putting in a lot of effort and getting great guests. everyone i knew was listening to the bbboys and it was a great time to be a pest. my only regret was that i never went on the walkover!

If you want to reminisce about the old Opie and Anthony days then check out Opie Radio. He pretty much only talks about the old days and is willing to go over, talk about for a second time... what's the word I'm looking for? "Rehash"? Yeah, that's basically what he does. It's 90% rehashing the old days when he was part of the Opie and Anthony show. Check it out.

I have only listened to the Sirius/XM shows. I can't imagine listening to them without the comedian guests (Otto, Bill, Patrice, Colin, Blob) or retards (Bobo/Lady Di/Marion/Rich Vos) they had on.

I just started 2004 when they started on XM. The great comic guests are what made the show.

Same situation and totally agree. As a day to day listener WNEW was easily the high point for me too. Obviously the Patrice/Burr/Colin/Louis stuff was great because those guys were hilarious but, at the time at least, the WNEW show itself was really funny and entertaining because of O&A; not just because of funnier people coming in and smashing each other.
