He's finally coming to the realization that he's alienated himself from his neighbors with his bizarre behavior, constant self-called police presence, and the city at large making himself a spectacle. Oh, and he finally figured out that suing the cops has made him a target and a pariah with mental issues.
The fun loving days of being a stand-up open mic'er are gone. He last did some open mic bit way outside of town. He doesn't attend local writer events or geek cons or events in Milwaukee. He sits in bars alone on his phone.
With Milwaukee home values going up alongside his legal debts, he's likely to sell and move elsewhere to find a cheaper option where he can start over with new neighbors to alienate, new barflys to impress with his horseshit stories, new cops to annoy and new local representatives to smile and nod as he tries to explain why he's a special boy and deserves lots of special treatment.

Intriguing twist. I don't know how he'll be able to afford a decent house in Chicago. Maybe they're going to downsize and move to some beaner-infested neighborhood in Irving Park. They'll do it under an LLC and then he'll be unable to resist the temptation to take a million selfies and someone will easily triangulate his location with the blighted lavanderia in the background.

Milwaukee is 31st largest city in the US. Looking at the list, the only ones that make sense for someone in Pats situation (fat and broke) are:

Columbus Ohio
Indianapolis Indiana
Jacksonville would work too, but Pat has been very adamant about staying in the Midwest due to climate change.
