I also saw the tweets mentioning this, but Auschwitz IS a German name after all. If we're gonna be performatively smug about this, we should call it by its Polish name, Oświęcim.
All that matters is that 80 million Jews died there, bigot. You’re going to have to take a class on the 130 million Jews that died in Auschwitz. It’s a disgrace to the 300 million Jews who died fighting in that camp. You of course, will be expected to pay your education as we can’t expect to give education to bigots for free.

If you'd bothered to read out the name of the Polish location, you'd hear that "Auschwitz" is simply a replacement word used to Germanify it. Which makes sense, as Germany were occupying Poland at the time. As any kid who'd been made to watch Schindler's List in school would know.
