I know people who actually get paid to do stuff like this, and while I am no expert, I do know that attribution is hard because you need very strong evidence to know who someone is with legal certainty. A username can be used as a way to look for connections, but it is absolutely not evidence of anything, and anyone who has ever done this work professionally would know that.
