It's definitely worth it as it's still great. If you're playing on PC then you might need to downgrade and mod it to get the best results or just use the in-game framerate limiter, as it wasn't intended to play above 30 fps.

It's definitely dated and if you've played later GTAs it's missing some serious QOL stuff. Oh, you failed the race? Fuck you, drive five minutes back to the starting point to try again. Hope you like the game being held hostage until you complete all the shitty flight school missions with the plane that handles like ass.
Overall it's an okay game though.

I was getting tunnel vision, by video game standards you are right. The missions were kinda bullshit and it got grindy at parts to the point where the game wasn’t fun anymore. I enjoyed 5 more but obviously it’s less dated. It had a good soundtrack too from what I remember.

I just can't play remakes. There's something autistic in me that won't allow it, because it was remade by people other than the OGs so the vision has changed. Not to mention stuff like removing lines because they're problematic etc.

Great fawkin game. You play as a black guy but you spend the majority of the game killing black people, so it all evens out.

The DMAN has always felt this way about San Andreas. It just gets grating after a while. And to make it even worse, it’s white peoples idea of black people shit. The DMAN does a lot of eye rolling when he plays San Andreas.
Vice City was superior in vibe and style. San Andreas had awful shooting mechanics. It was like the gun was never aiming or if you stood in the wrong spot you would just shoot into the air. The NPCs were way overpowered. The fact that you could swim as a black but not as an Italian was just ridiculous.
You wanna know the worst thing about the game? It was the only GTA main character who was a reluctant criminal. He was black so he had to be more innocent on some level just so it would be “the right kind” of glorifying niggerdom.

What do you think of GTA IV? I'll trust the DMAN's review and make my decision from that.
I got a few missions into the game back in 2008. Thinking of dusting off my xbox 360 and playing it again. I really hope it connects to my monitor and shit easily, and technology hasn't progressed that far since then.
