They were hyping it up since she broke the scoring record so it generated interest and it is March Madness so it’s not like you have to watch all season. But that won’t translate to big numbers in the WNBA since it’s…the WNBA. I mentioned it before but everyone already forgot about that Brittany Griner who got a TON of media attention for getting stuck in Russia. After she was back and playing in the season nobody cared.

Of course they’re trying to make it a thing since Disney (which owns ABC and ESPN) because they broadcast the WNBA games that nobody watches. They want big ratings and it’s not gonna work.

WNBA players are already overpaid. The league has lost money every single year since it was founded. Only reason it stays afloat is NBA owners are forced to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars every year for this pity project (I've read $350k each per year but I didn’t double check)..

The "pay gap" shit was predictable though. The whining about her being on SNL was what actually pissed me off. "Why isn't the South Carolina team on SNL instead of a white girl. Racist much?"
