I only have 2 grandparents left, the other 2 died before I was born.
One has no money so Im not getting shit. The other is on the side of my family with 9 aunts/uncles and over 30 grandkids so Im not getting shit

Yes. I inherited a good bit of money some years ago. It wasn’t a situation where I’d never have to work again so I just kept working. I make decent money these days so I live off of that.

Anyways, I basically paid off some debt and stuck the rest in investments. Outside of that, I haven’t really touched it aside from some mandatory distributions I have to take on inherited IRAs.

It’s nice to know it’s there if I get laid off or if the real estate market takes a shit a la 2008 but I don’t ever really think about it.

Be prepared to receive a bunch of letters from the IRS if you get a decent amount.
